Xpid - anyone know about this genetic disorder? Posted: 11-02-07 20:37pm
I have Syndrome X, or XPID. This is a
mutation on the X chromosome. Girls have
XX, so I am OK as far as severe sickness.
Boys almost always die with XPID because
they only have one X chromosome and if it
is mutated, they can't survive. My
symptoms are insulin Resistant Diabetes,
PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome),
Hypothyroidism, overweight with problems
losing, irregular periods, immature eggs
(So I am unable to get pregnant),
depression and hormonal problems (I wet
the bed until I was 15. I found a
nosespray that helps with this).
I probably have one of two genetic
mutation disorders, XPID or another X
chromosome disorder that will make me
severely sick if I get pregnant, (I won't
die, but I will need to be hospitalized).
When I do try to have a baby, it will be a
very expensive thing as I will need to do
the optional sex procedure (where you can
choose the sex of your baby) to ensure I
don't have a boy. Then I will probably
have to have an invitro thing done.
