Hi I am new to this forum but have
suffered most of my life with this issue.
However the locked thing is a new
problem..I went to an oral surg. He said
he needed to irrigate the area in order to
push the pads back where they belong
(1700.00) . My left side locks and I can
not open more than 1 inch. Does this
(irrigating) ring a bell to any one and if
so what are your thoughts about it. I
have medical and dental ins but they will
not cover TMJ at all.

yes this rings a bell. I had it done. they
will do what is called an arthrocentesis.
the irrigation is calle lavage. They will
stretch the muscles so that you have a
larger opening. after that you need to
keep up the exercises to maintain that
opening.
medical insurance and dental insurance
exclude tmd. they think that its not a
real issue and its in our heads. well id
like to let them have it for 10 minutes.
then perhaps theyd cover it. if you need
me im right here.pm me or email me at any
time.
