Why do they do this?

As far as I can tell it is to create drama. If you watch them, when they post, it starts out simple enough - then turns into daily, and sometimes hourly, drama. Like the first 'lie' isn't good enough - they have to ramp up on the drama quickly.

The ones who do lie, always out themselves with their own words though. So they become easy to spot after awhile. Like some stories just don't add up right.
