I can't believe what has happened in my
city today. I live in a small city in
Northern Ontario where not a lot of bad
criminal things happen. But today a
newborn baby was stolen out of the
hospital. Here they allow women to keep
their babies in the room with them but
they have many strict policies for safety
reasons. Well I guess the nurses were
really slacking to say the least.
This women was wearing white scrubs but
she kept changing putting on different
colour zippered hoodies on. They have
surveillance footage of her walking around
the halls on the labor and delivery floor,
and nobody even stopped her or thought of
her as being suspicious....isn't that
crazy.
They have a video of her holding the baby
that was wrapped in a flannel blanket just
walking calmly down the hall and there was
a nurse who was walking behind her and you
can see that she was wondering what the
lady was doing but she never stopped her.
I am in total shock because the hospital
policy is that absolutely NOBODY can walk
the halls with a baby in their arms, they
have to be in there bed or cart thingy
that makes a lot of noise so it catches
peoples attention, but this nurse did
nothing!!!
I heard that this women may be from the
pyschiatric hospital and she left the
hospital on foot. She took the baby like 6
hrs ago and it is cold here. That poor
baby is probably cold and hungry. I am
pretty sure that the baby girl was born
today.
Things like this do not happen here, I am
in total shock, actually the whole city is
in total shock. I can't even imagine what
the poor parents are going through, I
really hope and pray that they find
her!!!
For anyone interested you can go to ctv.ca
and look at her pics where it says amber
alert.......

The hospital where Jaylon and Brianna were
born had a baby stolen out of there (she
was my neighbor for a bit!) about 8 or 9
years ago. Now they put an anklet on the
babies that sounds if you take the baby
even close to an exit. If you try to take
it off, or if by chance it falls off they
shut the unit down.
They finally found the baby. She was about
3 hrs away. It turned out that she told
her boyfriend that she was coming here to
have their baby (she must have been
pretending that she was pregnant) and so
he called to check on her and the hospital
must have thought that it was weird
because they didn't have anyone admitted
under that name so they started
investigating. they ended up tracking down
her car not far from where she lives. The
baby is safe and sound. The girl who took
her was only 19 yrs old.....like what the
heck was she thinking!!!
She totally had it all planned out. She
pretended that she was a nurse and she
told the mom that she had to take the baby
to have her weighed. I sure hope that she
gets put away for life. If her boyfriend
wouldn't have called it is very possible
that she just may have gotten away with
it...it is so scary.

so did Caty.. it looked like baby house
arrest lol
They don't have that here. Before we used
to have a nursery where all the babies
were kept. Now they let you keep the baby
in your room. The don't have any security
system in place. The only thing is that
you are not allowed to wander in the halls
with your baby. That way if they see
someone carrying a baby it is supposed to
draw attention to the situation. But they
actually have it on video that a nurse
actually saw her and didn't even stop to
question her because she had a nurses
outfit on. You could see the nurses look
on her face like she was wondering what
the lady was doing but still didn,t go
after her. She just let her walk away. We
live in a small city and she should have
noticed that that women didn't work here.
I really do hope that they step up the
security measures here because something
like this should have never happened. I
was sick to my stomach all day and i
couldn't stop thinking about it. I am just
so happy that they caught her and that the
baby is safe.
