Hi, Wondered if anyone can help. I came
of the pill two months ago, had a period
about 3 weeks ago but this only lasted for
two days, since then had really bad
stomach cramps and a feeling of 'comming
on' but nothing. Is this normal? has
anyone got any advice?

EVERYTHINGS normal when you just come off
the pill. it's different for everyone-
It's such a pain.
It takes a while for your body to get back
into the swing of things, and, a while to
figure out again, what's normal for you.
The first time I went off the Pill to TTC,
it was 6 weeks+ before I got a period I
was buying pregnancy tests like there was
no tomorrow for the whole 2 weeks.
Then I got the period (grrr) and it
lasted, like 2 or 3 days.
I got pregnant that month, but, going by
the dates, I must've ovulated only 2 days
after the short period- Like day 5 of my
cyle or something stupid- I can't really
remember now- definately not when I
would've expected to.
So, now I'm off the pill again- thinking
about conceiving number 3. I stopped
taking it at the end of October. I"m a
week late for my period already, and
although I've had the odd twinge, I'm not
really expecting to see it for another
week or so. I'm certainly not testing!!! I
did test for ovulation around the 14 day
mark and beforehand- nothing, god knows if
I ovulated at all, and if so when.
Just hanging out for my period, so we can
start over!!!!!
I don't feel pregnant at all, so I'd say
it'll show up sometime.
It's such a pain, I'm lucky enough to be
trying for the 3rd and last time, so I'm
happy if it takes a little while-
Lenghthen the whole "process" because 3
kids is enough for us, and I don't want it
all over Too soon- y'know? but Days seem
like Weeks when you're trying for the
first time, and Ovulation to period to
ovulation again seems like a lifetime.
If you're worried, or in alot of pain,
talk to your doctor, but once they hear
"just came off the pill" they'll probably
just give you the old "wait and see" It's
frustrating, but there's not alot else to
be done. Focus on your overall health,
diet excercise etc, and your body will
settle into it's own pattern.
