Yaz - What other side effects have users had w/ this pill? Posted: 11-01-07 17:02pm
I have been on BC for ~9 years, starting
w/ OTC, then OTC lo, followed by Trinessa.
I am now on Yaz, to help w/ migraines.
I am almost midway thru my 2nd pack of
Yaz. I had my period the day after I
finished my white pills, on Oct. 20 and
21. Well, starting Oct. 27 my breasts
began to feel sore and the pain has
increased as the week has progressed. My
nipples are also extremely sore and
protrude slightly almost always (normally
they are smooth and flat unless I'm cold).
I've had breast/nipple pain before, but
usually a week or so before my period, not
a week after my period.
I'm just curious if any other Yaz users
have had a similar reaction? What other
side effects have users had w/ this pill?
Thanks in advance for any help/info.

I've never been on Yaz, but on other types
of birth control I had sore breasts. I was
convinced I was pregnant for that reason
once (I wasn't). I think that's a
pretty common effect.

That happens to me to so I would not worry
to much.
i'm currently trying to find people who
are exhusted on Yaz and have no sexual
drive. I've been on it since May 07 and
I'm constantly exhusted and have no drive
at all and my head aches are coming back.
have you had any other problems? The
website says nothing about these two.
Headaches is a give with pills i'v been
told.

This is good to know. I'm on Ortho
Tricyclen now and don't really have any
complaints (other than me getting my
period for 6 days while other women I know
who are on BC pills usually all tell me
that theirs last 4 days). I was
considering switching to Yaz because they
say it helps with mood swings and it's
great overall. Now that I hear some of
this I think I'm going to stick with mine.
I guess that's why they say if it's not
broke don't fix it. For anyone looking
for a good pill though, Ortho is good. I
was just looking for a change, see if
something else would work better.
Thanks

i personally hated yaz. it gave me
headaches, cramps, a longer period and
instead of making my mood swings better i
would get very emotional and have little
crying fits. i got off within 3-4 months
b/c i couldnt take the way i was acting.
