Stomach Issues - Black Stools, Bouts of Diarrhea, Etc. Posted: 11-01-07 14:35pm
I would like some feed back on what I am
experiencing. See if anyone else has
experienced this or would know what these
symptoms add up to. Sorry if I get too
explicit, but more information the better,
right? Anyway, for the past couple of
months, I have been having bouts of
diarrhea. When I get it I will have it
all day long. I'll even check with my
husband to see how he feels thinking we
ate something bad, but he'll be fine. I
also have cronic heartburn. I will get it
so bad that I will make myself throw up in
order to relieve the pain. It doesn't
matter what I eat. I can have a peanut
butter sandwhich and get heartburn. I
have been checked for an ulcer and the
test came back negative. My doctor
prescribed me medicine which works great
but I wonder if it is only masking a
larger lying problem. Lately I have been
getting fatiqued easily and even light
headed with dizzyness. I have been
checked for anemia and it also came back
negative. My blood has a healthy iron
count (41 points). Just today, I suddenly
got really nauseated and when I went to
the bathroom, my stools were black. I
have been getting this for a while now off
and on. Maybe I am drinking too much
beer, but I just took a month off from
drinking all together and was still
getting these symptoms. Also, sometimes
when I am getting out of bed, my stomach
will cramp up like a quick stabbing pain.
I also bloat up really easily even when I
am not PMSing. Any thoughts would be
appreciated. I do have a followup with my
doctor at the end of the month. Thanks.

Hi ya,
Not sure about the diarrhea but I do know
that black stool is usually something
sinister. If it is truly dark dark then
you should get the stool checked for blood
content. If there is blood in your stool
then it can be a few things - cancer,
ucler (which you don't have as you said),
intestinal infection....
These are the few that I am really aware
about - but for sure get that checked and
let us know what happens....
Can be scary when you are having pain and
issues like that and now know what the
culprit is!!!

i am having black stools, black in vomit,
bad back pain, severe gas,with burping
that tastes like bile, sweats,dizziness.
what could this be?
