Painful Sternum Area

Okay, I've read a lot of these forums and they all sound kind of a like. I've had this problem for about 6 months now. It seemed to have started after a night of wrestling around w/ my b/f. Although, it didn't start that night, it did the next morning. I actually had pain in my chest around my sternum area that was hurting even w/ deep breathing. That lasted for about a few days and then it just went to when I sneezed and coughed or lifted something heavy.

That seemed to have subsided after a couple of weeks, but about 3 months ago I got the same symptoms again. When I sneeze and put my hand right over my sternum I can actually feel something push out real quick, not to mention that it hurts pretty bad. I've tried the crossing arm thing and that seems to help a little.

I believe this is a condition that I got from working on a computer. I do medical transcription so I'm on the computer 6-8 hours a day. I've changed my posture and seating position and it doesn't seem to go away.

I went to a chiropractor but they just took x-rays and said everything looked fine. I haven't been anywhere else as I don't have insurance and I'm not about to be referred to several different doctors for this Wink

Has anyone been actually diagnosed w/ anything and had it corrected? Oh-yea, it also really hurts sometimes as I'm laying on my stomach and try to lift myself up starting w/ my head (as on a chiropractor bed). That actually made me cry out a few times in pain (embarrasing, but very painful). Thanks
