Running too much is definitely not a
problem for me. I was between 100 &
105 when I ran all the time in high
school. For my marathons, I weighed 125
as an adult. I'm quite a bit higher right
now because I haven't gotten back into it
following a few injuries. It doesn't help
that it's hard on my joints to carry more
weight. I exercise 4-6 days per week, but
not enough to be concerned that my
problems are from exercising too much.
Wow, I'm so amazed that people can run for
so long. I'm sure they get addicted to
the feeling, but it has to be hard to stay
motivated and fit it into their lives
(unless, of course, they run for a
living). I'm surprised that the doctors
didn't tell your friend to tone down the
running earlier.
Our insurance is through work. We do have
an opportunity to change in a few weeks
and I researched our options. I looked at
whether we would have to change doctors
and what kind of fertility and maternity
care they have. The best option would
allow us to keep our doctors and doesn't
require as much pre-authorization as our
current insurer. It also covers 100% of
infertility costs that are covered
compared to 50% coverage by our current
company. However, the change would not be
in effect until the end of January, and we
should have all our tests done by then and
hopefully the authorizations won't be an
issue. Another downside of the
alternative company is that it doesn't
cover IVF, only IUI. Also, it seems like
it has less maternity coverage. Given
those trade-offs, it no longer seems like
a good economic idea for us to switch.
I'd like to switch out of principal, but
my dh is a harder sell.
How is the IVF stuff going? Are you into
the injections yet?

Yes, the did tell my friend to slow it
down on the running...and she did. We
should know this week if her IVF was
successful or not. I'm so excited for
her.
Sounds like you have looked into all
options for insurance. I guess staying
where you are makes sense. At least it's
covered once they actually decide you are
entitled. It may take longer than desired,
but at least you will get your money back.
My Ins.Co. covers the drugs ~$3000, but
does not cover the procedure ~$5000 ($6500
if we have to do ISCI). It covered 100% of
IUI though. Only $175.
I started my first drug on Saturday. It's
a nose spray that lowers the amount of
estrogen in your body. I have no idea why
they need to do that, but whatever. I'm on
bored for anything at this point. I'm the
type of person that doesn't even take
Advil for PMS...so all of these drugs in
my system are making me feel weird. I also
take bromocriptine every night for my high
prolactin levels. This drug makes me feel
like I'm looking through a kaleidescope
for the first few hours every
morning...freaky wierd streaks of light
surround my line of sight. Annoying. As
soon as AF comes, I will start my
injections. That should be this upcoming
Saturday. Yikes!
