Kidneys Bleeding Or Frequint Periods? Posted: 04-04-04 17:31pm


How can you tell the difference between bleeding in the kidneys and frequin periods? The doctor said I would be having a lot of pain if it was kidneys but I dont know about that??? He did take blood from me. Would it show in the blood work if it was kidneys? Thanks! Shawna

You would be in extreme pain if you were bleeding from your kidneys. The bloodwork may not show anything, but a urinalysis will. Did your doctor do one of those for you as well? Sometimes my drs require me to take 24 hour specimens. This means peeing in a cup or something and then transferring it to a larger receptacle. I would definitely inquire to your doctor about the urinalysis. That would be the best indicator of blood in the urine. Also is the doctor a nephrologist or a rheumatologist?
