Evil or Very Mad Hi! This is kind of complicated and knowone has been able to tell me what is going on! For the past 8 years since I was about 22 years old I have had burning vaginaly inside and out. I have had reoccurant UTI's but not all the time. There is no consistancy in the pain and intercourse is sometimes very uncomfortable. It is not a yeast infection, UTI or STD. As I have only been with two mates in my lifetime and have been checked out for cysts of the ovaries and bladder...nothing. I am so sick of it. I also do not use condoms so it is not an alergy to latex. Any ideas? I am out of them.

What kind of body soap do you use? Spermicide? Foods you could be allergic to? New laundry soap?

I Am Pretty Careful
I use hypoallergenic laundry soap for my underwear. Dove sensitive soap (no parfums), no spermiside, and a slight allergy to eggs.
This morning I woke up and really good pain in my lower abdomen, even hurt to put any pressure on it and of course burning! Uhhhhh. Dr. appointment again today. I think I am going to request a Gyno. I have had enough! The hubby and I are trying to have children and I think it will not happen till I get this figured out.

I had this once before, last year actually...same sort of thing. No std, no yeast, no uti. My vagina was burning for about a month for no apparant reason. Not just a little burn, but a big burn. It went away eventually...think it was hormonal.
Hope this helps!

Did you ever get this matter resolved? I am having the same problem. I have had burning in and out of my vagina for about 6 weeks. I have had a catheter put in to get a clean sample of urine and of course there was no bacteria, so it is not a UTI. I am so sick of the burning too. I don't know what it could be.

I posted this in another forum. I was diagnosed with this and I have since been pain free. I can have sex and it doesnt hurt anymore. Please pm me if you have any questions. But I highly recommend that you find a doctor that knows what this is. I wish you the best.

Vulvar Vestibulitis

So yep I have this. Finally an answer to my painful sex. I feel so relieved. I know whats wrong and most of all why.

According to the doc the birth control I have been taking for 5 years has robbed my body of estrogen and replaced it with progestrin. This causing my painful sex. The vestibule, which is where the hymen is, are glands that are designed to protect your vaginal opening during intercourse. These little glands allow the entry of a penis. The glands thrive on etrogen. The estrogen keeps this piece of skin strong and enables it to allow friction. Well since my body does not have enough estrogen the skin literally becomes raw when there is any kind of friction. So its like I have an open wound there. My body cannot defend itself from "things going inside." So the answer is I have to inject etrogen into myself for four weeks to build my levels up. I cant have sex for 4 weeks, not that I could anyway. In three months my body will be healed. I CANNOT take hormonal birth control again otherwise this will happen.

So theres my story and thats where I am at. I will probably get and IUD placed later. But my hubby and I finally have an answer and our sex life can come back. This has been so depressing for me. I felt less than a real women for so long. (I have had a history of painful sex since I started having sex). I almost lost hope.

There are like a hand full of doctors that actually know about this so it has been very difficult to find a doc. I have gone 5 years to all sorts of doctors and no one knew. There are only 2 docs in my entire state! There are some in CA and most are on the east coast. Man this has been a headache.

So just wanted to let you guys know about this, and maybe help the next women that has this .

I stumbled accross this and I know exactly what is wrong!!! I too have been plagued with this same problem. I was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis. I was relieved when I finally found out what was wrong! There is a downside to IC. They don't really know what causes it and no cure....yet. Good Luck! Here is a good website. www.ichelp.org

I am so happy you found out. There is so much releif to finally know whats wrong. I too thought I had IC, that was one of my first guesses. You have a bright future. A friend of mine just got diagnosed with IC and she is on her 4th treatment. SHe has never felt better. There is no cure but there are ways to deal and live with IC, comfortably too. Best Wishes to you and I am so happy you have your answers

Burning Vagina
This is for Nanook1...I too had vaginal burning...six doctors and many tests later, one smart doctor found an infected polyp behind my cervix.. there was no bleeding but I felt a little swollen deep inside my vagina....I had pelvic cramping also..be sure to cauterize all polyps to keep them from returning...

Could it be BV? Itching, burning (inside and out). I had the same prob for years - couldn't figure what I was doing wrong. All tests at doctor would come back negative. So I saw a nateuropath and found out i have a wheat allergy - as soon as I started a wheat free diet, it disappeared, after years of agony! I also had a friend who had the same problem with yeast infections and as soon as she stopped having wheat it went away.

It could be Vulvodynia. I have it and the pain your describing is what I did have before I was put on medicine. You need to see a doctor to diagnose it though.

Hello burning burning....
I was told I had vaginal warts! My partner was not happy! He made sure he did not have them and now for 5 months I have not had sex for fear of spreading them! I had them frozen twice and was treated with aldera!the treatment left me in lots of pain and after freezing also still the burning and bumps were there! I trusted my family doc to be correct! I had been checked by 5 docs and nurses all of them not finding the bumps to be warts! Well now I am convinced they are not warts!! I am going in for one more exam and I will just have to believe this doctors findings! I cannot afford the cash payments! I lost my job and have no health insurance and also going through a divorce and my Mother just passed away! I think stress bumps!!! But the burning and itching is a mystery!! I feel they are cysts! But why the burning??? Is so frustrating!! After my hub and I seperated I found a wonderful person and now no sex!!! Such a pain!! Literally!!
