Bleeding in first trimester? Ultrasound measures small fetus Posted: 10-29-07 18:45pm
hello, my name is allison.
I am suppose to be 8 weeks pregnant.
yesterday i started bleeding at work so i
went to the ER. They did a whole bunch of
tests to see if they could find anything
wrong but they didn't. so today they
brought me in to do any ultrasound. but
they said my baby is only measuring 6
weeks 5 days. is that common?

did they see a heartbeat?
if so, you must have ovulated later than
you thought.
have you seen a doctor yet?

your estimated due date is based on the
first day of your last period. and
assuming that you actually concieved
exactly 2 weeks after your period, it's
perfectly normal and the ultrasound
results are more acurate than the
'one-size-fits-all' spin the wheel on your
period method... as for the bleeding,
seeing the baby's heart beat is
re-assurance that everything is just fine.
stay off your feet for a while and do
eveerything your dr. tells you to do

Yes they did see the heartbeat and my
cervix is closed. they said they do not
think i would miscarry but they did tell
me to stay off my feet. when i went to the
my doctors after he is like sometimes the
er ultra sounds are not very good so im
still gonna say your 8 weeks. lol

Sometimes their ultrasounds aren't that
good? Then demand another one from your
doctor, considering you are depending on
the u/s to be RIGHT!
