How pregnant is your girlfriend? Sex is fairly safe in the early stages of pregnancy and will cause no harm to the growing embryo/fetus. As she approaches birth time, sex may simply become too uncomfortable for her to participate in. I don't think there's any way sex can actually harm the fetus, as your penis doesn't go inside of the uterus!

If you don't mind me asking, what are you two planning to do once the baby is born? What are you going to do for birth control once she delivers?

You should look in to that. There are many options. Pills, IUDs, patches, shots, rings, etc. It's very important to prevent any unwanted pregnancies.

I already answered that. Unless you don't know how long pregnancy lasts, you should know that four months is early pregnancy.

The baby is protected by embryotic fluid. It will be fine.

Talk to her OB. Mine made me stop having sex at 5 months because I was high risk for early labor... but some girls can have sex up until the time the baby pops out.

That's nice.

What are you doing to get ready to pay for everything? Do you have a full time job, an apartment, clothes and food yet?

Ok, good for you. I do have to admit that I feel really sorry for you and your gf, though. I hate to have to see kids struggle like you both will have to.

sex should be perfectly safe for her unless specified by her doctor. i had bleeding problems with my first baby Sawyer, so i wasnt allowed to exercise or have sex. generally her birth canal is about 9 inches long where as the average penis is only around 6 inches, plus there is also the cervix and the birth sack membranes that protect the child. the final line of defence is the amniotic fluid to cushon the baby. many pregnant women have fallen flat on their stomachs and saught medical help out of fear after and nothing was wrong with the baby.
now, be aware that your ejaculate contains hormones which can cause the cervix to ripen (generally only when her body is ready) and orgasm can induce uterine contractions. many people have used sex to induce labour in many cultures, i would however use a condom. i dont want to scare anyone or gross them out, but with my first son Sawyer, we used unprotected sex to induce labour which worked like a charm (i dialated 4 cm right after our first try, which stalled. on our second try my water broke and i gave birth the next day). the problem was that due to the penetration, bacteria was introduced into my birth canal. my son got stuck in my pelvis and we needed to use forceps to pull him out. when you have a bruise your pores dialate and the doctors think that this was how bacteria got into Sawyers blood stream. we never knew until it was too late... he passed away from meningitis at 12 days old and it was so preventable.

You are allowed to have sex with no damage or concern while pregnant. It may at points of time become uncomfortable or unenjoyable for her. Later in pregnancy towards due date... it can induce labor. Nipple stimulation also induces contractions

Unless recommended not to by your doctor sex is perfectly safe for the baby during pregnancy.

Also at 4 months pregnant it's a little late to worry about birth control! If you're concerned about your options after the birth then speak to your doctor but it shouldn't be a problem to find a method that suits you both
