Hmmm
Maybe trying running or jumping rope would burn calories faster than walking. Also, try doing some sort of ab toning to tone your muscles instead of just making them leaner.

The key is to really lose the weight slowly. Please don't try really limited (crash) diets where early results are quick (more than 2 pounds a week is too drastic). Not only is it unhealthy, but it causes worse skin sagging than you would get if you dieted more sensibly. Do lots of ab-targeted exercises like crunches or working out with an exercise ball. Glamour.com has a body by glamor plan online that you can join that will give you personalized diet and exercise plans and tips. I would recommend joining that for more advice, support, and tips... especially since it's free! Very Happy

As much as it sucks, it's nearly impossible to lose weight from problem areas easily... it's an all-over thing. Have realistic goals that you can meet weekly or monthly instead of making one really dramatic weight loss goal.

Good luck! Try and find someone to go through it with you, motivation is key for me!

What is a tummy apron? 285, that is unhealthy miss lady. Your BMI is way up there and you are much more susceptible to obesity related cancers and diseases, you must work hard to lower it. You shouldn't be concerned about just losing your tummy fat, overall exercise and lifestyle changes are highly recommended. At your weight, it is probably difficult for you to do exercises such as running correct? For now all you can do is do exercises you enjoy, and are in your reach. If walking is tiring but you are capable of doing it for some time, do it.

Additionally, if you really wish for some help, please feel free to list on here or PM me your lifestyle and your eating habits. To have gained that amount of weight simply isn't a matter of conceiving a child or lack of exercise, you are most definitely not eating properly and/or poor living conditions.

Let me know if there is something I can do for you. I cannot stress enough however, how unhealthily you are living, you must make some changes or risk issues.

True
Mikolas is right. 285 is very unhealthy for a young lady, I'm afraid. maybe try jump roping or running, it burns fat off faster

285 isn't merely unhealthy for a young lady, it's unhealthy for anybody unless they are tall and muscular enough to match. I don't know if you can do jump roping or running, do not be concerned with what the others have said about what kind of exercises to do. Simply start of with an exercise that you find tiring but are still capable of doing and enjoy. That is your first step.
