Ok, so this thread seems really interesting. Is this Original Poster a guy? Why is he suppose to go to jail and get neutered...?

By the way, what the heck is Plan B?

plan B is a pill you can take after sex if you think you may be pregnant to prevent pregnancy Smile

So there is a condom, then there are birth control pills, and then this PLAN B? What does it do exactly?

Whatever it does, it seems like the ultimate measure, the way everybody stated so dramatically like its an ultimatum

Right- and that is how it works. That's how normal birth control works, too. The dose of progesterone keeps the LH levels from reaching levels required for ovulation and also keeps your uterine lining thin.

Ahh I see, so it doesn't kill the sperm, it just makes it hard for them to get up there and decreases your chance of ovulation?

My other question remains unanswered. Why do people feel this guy should get neutered and confined in a jail? It seemed like a harmless question.

It wasn't because of this question, it was for his past questions. I don't really know. Apparently he's a lot older than he says or something.

Isn't Jan 1 1980 the default date of birth?

I don't think this guy did anything with his profile considering he didn't bother to write anything else either.

Plan b is generally for if a condom breaks, or if you forget to take pills, or something like that. Hence the name, Plan B- for when Plan A fails. (or like in this case when there never was a plan A- bad idea)

IUD's can be used as emergency contraception too.

I don't know, but if you read the guy's posts on other threads they're a little fishy.

Yeah, preaching abstinence works! Rolling Eyes
That's what they teach in school....
And here we are, discussing someone who put alcohol in her vagina to kill sperm. It's very sad that the schools don't teach better things.

Abstinence was really the only thing brought up in my school. And a lot of scary pictures of std's and what not. She mentioned condoms but really only as a side note. She didn't even talk about planned parenthood! I had to learn about it from my sister.

I remember my teacher pointing right at me and saying that if I started having sex I would get pregnant and would have to quit swimming.

Do you think its up to the schools to teach this or parents?

I think schools and parents should work together to teach safe sex.
In my school, the only planned parenting we learned about was carrying a 5lb bag of sugar around with a diaper on it for 5 days.
They also told me that when I get my first period, it would feel like I had to pee.

Plan B is the right option of course, and it's best to take it right away. But it is not always going to prevent pregnancy because if the girl is ovulating, the egg can be fertilized within an hour of sperm getting into the vagina.

Yes but it can't implant, so the fertilized egg would not cause a pregnancy.

Plan b is actually pretty effective.
