Q: Post Bypass Pain And Atrial Flutter

My 75 yr old father had a triple bypass 4 days ago. Before this he had never had any trouble with his heart and was very active - walking daily and playing tennis a few times a week. Although the surgery itself went well, he is in severe pain and the painkillers (Percocets) make him vomit constantly. So the nurses have been giving him Tylenol (i think with codeine), but I have a hard time believing that there isn't anything better that he could stomach. Does anyone have any experience or advice?

He has also been left with an Atrial Flutter. What does this mean in terms of recovery?
Thanks.
