Q: Cleaning!
asked by: Rodge on October 28th, 2007

Well, I've been trawling the internet, and I've realised that my house? Not tidy. In fact, I'm pretty sure it can be classed as squalour. So, after a night spent being emo about it, I've decided to start by cleaning up my room. *

I have tidied three small spaces, and I'm up to my fourth bin bag. This is not going to be a quick and easy job. All the useful stuff I have salvaged from those spaces is piled up on my bed- why did nobody tell me tidying up creates more mess? Surprised

So. Anyone else have trouble with keeping things tidy? Anyone have any advice?

*(Actually, I started with my email inbox. 5500 unread messages, dating back to 2004! Now I can turn on my email notifier without it taking a million years to finish!)

haha you put all the good stuff on your bed? I used to do that at home.

I'm a disgusting slob too, but being at college right now I think I got a little more self conscious because I have a roommate. Tidy up every few days, that way you never have to really clean. But my idea of tidy up is just smash things where I think they fit, as long as its off the ground and garbage is in the trash. It's a wonderful way to stay pathetically lazy and still "look" clean Very Happy

Although I have one space that’s ALL mine... the closest. I won't be cleaning that until the end of the year.

My room is trashed right now, but I can't spend the time to clean it. I've got midterm projects due this week and tests.

Good luck eiri, I just got done with all my midterm stuff. Worst week ever, excluding finals week of course. And my room was trashed too so my roommate asked if we could clean. Who cleans on saturday night?

Once you get it all clean, every night before you hit the sack....do a "quick" pick up. That way it's never messy again. And every 2 or 3 days actually clean ( wipe things down and do the floors, etc.) It will be easier to manage!

I'm always too tired to clean before I go to bed. Friday night I went to a Halloween dance. As part of my costume, I put bronze glitter... pretty much everywhere, including my hair. It was 2 am when I got back and I STILL had to take a shower before going to bed XD

My room could do with some cleaning at the min, and I might get round to doing it at the weekend. Mine's mostly clutter, like clothes of the floor, bits of papers etc. But, when I eventually do give my room a good clean out I can never find anything again! It's easier for it to be a mess lol.
The reason it's a mess in the first place is because if I need to remember something for next day, like I need to take a book to uni or something, I'll put it in the middle of the floor so I trip over it in the morning lol then I know I won't forget it.

My house is a diaster. Neither of us have the time to spend doing mundane tasks such as cleaning. Very Happy

I did go out and buy a new mop and bucket for Sweetest Day. We ended up playing video games.

Clean Up - Whats That?
Kids are the excuse around here I am cleaning up like a shadow for my youngest although he does good putting away. It seems like when I clean by the end of the night it looked like it did before I cleaned it so. OH well the main time to keep it tidy is when we have company which is not that often since we live in the country.

ugh i hate cleaning with a passion. I just do damage control every so often and load dishes directly into the dishwasher, and thats enough for me haha. My computer, however, is extreeemely organized, I cant stand a cluttered desktop!

Our apartment is a disaster. It is really small, so if the littlest thing is on the floor it seems like a huge mess. We just got a piece of art shipped to us and it came in packing peanuts, and the cat jumped in the box and they went ALL over the floor Sad
