Q: Repeated Clitorial Infections?

This has happened 4-5 times in the past year--over the course of a few days, my clitoris gets very itchy, then sensitive and itchy, then pus appears; eventually it breaks opens and drains, sometimes with very small amounts of blood. The whole thing seems to run its course in a few days. It seems to occur after sex. I already know I have HSV1, so thought it was an outbreak, but the doctor who treated it (the second time I had it) said it's not HSV; that it was some kind of skin infection. He simply prescribed an antibiotic cream to put on it. It totally heals up, but then within a few months, it happens again. I feel stupid going to my doctor, 'cause I've never heard of such a thing. WHAT IS THIS???????!!!!!!!!!! It's driving me nuts!

Thank You
I did go to urgent care this AM first thing--glad I did. I guess I was afraid to find out--but turns out that it IS an infection caused by the fact that I have a cyst-that's why it keeps happening over and over. I'm taking a course of antibiotics and will see my ob-gyn in a few weeks for possible removal of the cyst. I'm really glad i went--this has been happening for a year now; I was embarrassed and scared, thinking it might be some weird STD or cancer or something. thanks for your responses and support.

Oh I'm glad you're getting it taken care of!! Never be afraid to see your doctor, or at least, never be afraid to ask questions anonymously online lol.
