Q: An I dependent on Imovane / Zopiclone ?

Thanks for the board.I have been on "Imovane"[7.5 mg Zopiclone] since 28 August 2007,1x when needed. In such a short period,I am becoming aware of a certain dependence.I am not sure whether it may be that I had not had a good night's sleep for 20 years,or whether it may be becoming a true dependence.Although I have-and quite consciously-'only' had 10 pills in 1 1/2 months, some of you here seem to be implying that the blurb which comes with the packaging MIMS Australia[www.mims.com.au] is just outright wrong when it comes to potential addiction.I am on no other medication, but co-incidentally I am still psychologically addicted to LSD having had my last trip about 20 years ago-that's where I get my sense of addiction.I drink to excess, but no more than excessive drinkers do.Thanking you in advance,my questions to the board are:

1.Has anyone who was on 'Zopiclone' without other psycho-mimetic type drugs been clinically diagnosed as dependent?

2.When did the need for 'more' first start:at what dosage over what period?

Thanking you for what may be tremendous preventative advice.

Wow, I read where someone is getting their drugs through someone who works at a nursing home. This is ILLEGAL!!! I hope who ever is supplying you is caught and the full ramifications of their licensure is employed. This is legally, morally and ethically wrong. Sorry about this persons sleep problems. I am not sorry they have resorted to criminal activity (in reality) to take care of their problem. Not a good sound decision friend.

To the person taking 50 plus pills a day. Please find someone who can detox you safely. Your life is worth it.

Zopiclone
i got zopiclone in august for jet lag and intermitten insomnia... i liked how it made me fall asleep so quick.... it's october now... i take at least three a night and get anxious if I dont... i think i am depressed as well... and on days where i dont feel like facing life... i just keep taking them all day so i sleep or feel high.... i often drink with them....

i think i have a problem

so to answer your question, i started in august with 1/2 a 7.5 mg pill for a week then went up to 1 pill and probably started on 2 or three pills in the past month.. (october)

Withdrawal From Opiates
I keep getting these MRSA infections, abcesses, which are very painful. Everytime I get one, they put me on percocet, which only takes a little of the pain away. Everytime I run out I go through withdrawal. This is my 10th case of MRSA in 2 months. I need the pain medication, because they really are very very painful, especially when they are cut open and drained and packed. I am on a body wash, nose medication and 2 different antibiotics. I hope and pray I don't get another one because of the opiate withdrawal, which feels like the flu, it sucks. What can I do? Someone please help. I can't cope with the pain and I can't cope with the withdrawal. HELP PLEASE!!

I have been taking ZOPICLONE FOR ABOUT 7 YEARS.
I have only rarely taken more than the 7.5 tablet I am prescribed but am worried about the length of time I have been on them. I know I cannot manage without them, yet I also realise I am probably addicted to them.
So I am in a catch 22, I have told my doctor who just wrote me another script... Could I sue for dependancy of this damned drug ?
