Ok, I bought hair extentions tonight from sallies for like 75 bucks, I'm having problems. First of all, I bought the wrong color, so I went out to kmart and bought 2 things of hairdye and I'm going to dye my hair and the extentions and get them to match to a better color.. hopefully. Second, my hair is really short, and the extentions are pretty long... they're 14 inches. I don't know if it's just me.. but I feel like I can totally see my short haircut AND the long extentions.. like i just look goofy. like i look like joe dirt or something lol like i have the short hair and then just extra hanging.

im thinking that once i dye my hair and the extentions and get them to match to the same color it wont be as obvious that i have them in, when you have regular hair thats the same color & have layers its not really noticable, so im assuming itll be te same way with these, i dont know, im just posting this hoping that maybe zanny or anyone else who has experience in this area could help me, i want it to look cute.. i hate my short hair now lol

Are you getting them braided in or glued in? When I use to work at a salon, for my customers with shorter hair I braided it in. It looks more natural. I only used a couple of strands of their natural hair, so nobody could really tell they were extensions .

Actually, they're just flat clips. You can't really tell that they're clipped in or anything. I thought about taking the clips off and then taking them to someone to actually braid or glue in my hair, i don't know if that's possible though? I just have this big thing tomorrow and wanted to look cute =( and now I'm all frustrated lol

The clips can be removed, you just have to be extra careful.

I got extensions once and loved it. My extensions were really cheap and I went to a training place for future hairdressers. Sorry if this sounds stereotypical but I went to a place where I knew a white person wouldn't be working on my hair as they generally have little experience with extensions. The woman who ended up doing my hair has been doing extensions for life. I thought that it would be more difficult for her to do my hair because my hair is extremely fine. She was able to braid the pieces in no problem. I ended up spending $45 for her to braid all the extensions in my hair. The actual hair cost around $60. I thought it looked real. It lasted for about one month. I believe it would have lasted longer if I didn't get such cheap hair.

I HAD to get extensions. I ended up with the worst haircut ever and felt inhuman. I felt human again for that month!!

I have had them a few times but always bonded in. I used to have a hook up at beauty school but everyone is long graduated and im not in touch with any of them. I know that in a salon they are about 1200 bucks here but if you go to a place where they do weaves and ethnic hair i could probably get it done for like 100 bucks...

Terra..your making me want them again!!
I want them for Christmas Smile

lol it's exciting & cool having long hair again, I'm just gonna see what they look like when my hair is all one color.

I just feel ike they look really thin.. so you can see the short hair on my neck & then the long hair on top of it when I look in the mirror. Argh, I don't know, I'll post pictures tomorrow =)

Lol Dani. You're cute. Terra- I knew you shouldn't of cut your hair! It looks cute on you but like everyone says it takes a life time to grow and only a few minutes to cut. I would NEVER cut off my hair (trim, obviously) I know I would regret it

If the extensions are too long, why don't you get a hairdresser to cut them for you? (if you wouldn't do it yourself.. I probably would, but I'm stoopid). I know what you mean about the thickness of them.. mine are the same.

I wouldn't have them glued in, personally.. but of course that's up to you. I like the fact that I can take mine out whenever I want.. I usually only put them in for nights out anyway.. & they'll last a lot longer because I'm not wearing them all the time. But it's alllllll up to you, pretty lady! =)

i did the sew n one time and i dunno why my hair is long but i wanted fuller hair and boy did that hurt so be carefull doing anything to your hair including dying it. it stresses your hair out. what i would do is take the extension to a professional sinc you paid so much for them, i thnk sally's got you lol sorry and let the pro's do it. i bought 2 packs of human hair for $50 and had so much hair didnt know what to do but let them die and add them in. i think long hair would look cute on you

I would be careful with the whole dying thing because they still might end up not the same color. You never know with box color, especially because you are starting out with two different colors in the first place.

Good luck and hopefully everything turns out Smile We always want what we don't have. Whenever I have long hair I want it short and then when I cut it I want my long hair back...can't win...lol

terra maybe you could call around hairdressers and see if they can put them in for you? sometimes extensions can be hard to get right when youre doing it yourself

if you need some hair though call me because you can have mine lol
i hate it
