The nurses didn't tell me anything. I have so many questions...

1. They gave me only 5mg of vicoden, will that be enough for the awful cramps?? and how long does it take for vicoden to kick in?

2. I have a plane trip to vegas on sunday, how long do medical abortions last and do you think i'd be able to go?

3. How many store bought medications can you take with the vicoden if it doesn't help?

4. I took the first pill at 4pm yesterday, and they said I had to wait exactly 24 hours..but that means that I'm going to stay up ALL night can i take it any earlier?

I'm terribly scared please help! Crying or Very sad

Medical abortion is a lot more painful than surgical abortion, mainly because you can be put to sleep for surgical.

Vicodin will help, but you are going to feel a lot of pain, I don;t want to lie to you.

Medical abortion lasts 4-8 hours.

You really need to wait 24 hours.

NOT to scare you...

You are going to gush blood, it will be very very heavy, and you will have intense cramping, but try and take your pain meds BEFORE you insert the other pills.

You can go on a plane trip, but you wills till be bleeding.

I would have recommended surgical over medical abortion, as it only takes 5 minutes, and it is painless thanks to IV sedation. The bleeding is also a lot less severe...

You will likely bleed for 9-14 days, some days heavier than others.

Carifairy, why does a medical abortion make you pass so much blood when the embryo is so small? Why is it not just the same amount of blood as a period? Where is all this blood coming from?

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious... Embarassed
