Q: False Negatives - Did I take Pregnancy Test Too Early?

I was on the pill and finished a pack and didn't start again. Had a period after I finished the pills. I started noticing a white discharge the week after I had my last period which I now know was cervical mucus, a sign of ovulaiton. I had unprotected sex on the 6th and expected my period on the 14th. My period hasn't come and I think I could be pregnant. When I had stopped the pill before my periods returned normal and I have never been late for any peroid that I've ever had.

I went to the doctor last week for tonisllitis and they gave me a preg test, it came out negative. But I'm thinking that could have been too early. I was told I have to wait another week to know for sure. But I wanted to know has this happened to anyone? I know there's a possiblity of pregnancy, but the waiting is driving me nuts. I've been told that I might not know for certain until I'm almost a month late, does any of this sound normal? Any advice is welcomed...thanks!

yes you could easily get a false negative as it could've been soon to test. you might not have enough of the pregnancy hormone in your system at the moment. did you want to get pregnant?
