Hey im a 16 year old male and a small bump formed on my lower lip a little over a month ago. its small, filled with clear puss and wont go away. it hurts when i bite it and feels sorta hard. i can bite off the skin on it and the clear stuff will come out a little. the next day itll become smaller but then the day after itll just grow back. if i leave it alone its still there. i even bit that whole chunk off one day when i was eating. then after the skin on my lip grew back the bump came back too. it wont leave me alone and a couple of days ago my front top four teeth started hurting and i havent done anything to them it feels like baby teeth feel like when your ripping them out . also my teeth are shifting around like sometimes my front two teeth can touch the bottom 2 front teeth but sometimes they cant at all and its really bugging me

i was just wondering if this could possibly be mouth cancer or something...

its been a massive burden on me and i will try to see a doctor sometime but my dad just keeps telling me not to worry. the symptoms i looked up said shifting of teeth, bump that wont go away, and stuff like that its just freaking me out could you please help me?

thanks

Kurt,

I think at 16 you're too young to have oral cancer.

I have had a small white dot on my lip that was something like a blister for many years now. It's never seemed to go away. But yours sounds a bit different. Mine isn't hard and I don't believe any puss or anything came out of it. The many dentists I've been going to have been seeing it for years. At first I was worried about it, but I've stopped worrying. Maybe you bit it some time in the past and forgot about it.

Your shifting teeth sound like either gingivitis or periodontitis. Likewise your bite problem. That's fairly serious, if you consider loosing your teeth serious. But you're young enough so that it can probably be treated and reversed. (I had mine diagnosed much later in life, and they need super strict care now.)

I hope you've already gone to a dentist, and if you haven't, I hope you will, and I hope your Dad supports you. This should all probably be checked out.

Good luck.

Kurt,

Glad things have resolved themselves. But I do think it's a good idea to get a checkup once a year. I know the dentist can be expensive, but if you go in for a check up, at least you'll get an assessment of your overall dental health, and then maybe can find some sort of home treatment in books, the library or the net.

I only recently learned the connection between not getting yearly cleanings and tartar buildup. Tartar accumulates even when you brush and floss well. That harbors bacteria that slowly decay your teeth. I don't think dentists explained this very well to me, if at all.

Anyway, glad it's turned out alright, but I'd be thinking about budgeting and planning a dental visit.

We bought new insurance and all doctor/dental is free Very Happy

I go my teeth cleaned like a week ago, and the dentist took xrays and checked and cleaned my teeth. She didnt mention that there was anything wrong so I assume I am healthy.
