Random erections don't happen to older teens as much as they do young teens, so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

They are just jealous..............be proud son. Go on and wrestle and if it happens...just smile like you meant for it to happen! Its a natural thing, now where wrestling come in and you catch a "stiffy" gets me, but you can't let others get under your skin.........who gives a rats ass what others say.....and you should not be embarrassed.......be proud! I agree, when you were in fifth grade your hormones were crazy. How old are you now? You might be past the random boner stage, and you will be safe now.

I'm in the eight grade now, so am I past that stage, I still seem to get random boners.

I just think I'm going to do wrestling though, I can't be scared to do things just because of something that happened in the past.

Okay. I assume that you wear a padded jock strap when you wrestle. If not, you should. The padding makes your groin look large to begin with, so nobody knows whether or not you have a boner, if you do get one, unless it sticks out the top. To avoid that problem put your penis in a downward position inside the jock strap when you put it on. Then, if you happen to get a boner it will press against the jock strap and not show. It will be incomfortable, however, but which is worse - huge embarrassment or some slight discomfort?

Well at eighth grade you still might get them depending on where you are in puberty, but you're the best judge of that.

I've seen many youths and guys when they are up they have an erection. i wish they wouldnt make singlets like this.

i was wondering , i bought a speedsuit for running on the track. but when i put this suit on me, i get a boner , and my friend think its funny. so i dont wear the suit anymore. but its just like if the material of the suit makes me get this problem. i like the suit, but not that way. the boner comes and goes, i have no control over it. any sugguestions. thanks for the help.

The same here, I get them all the time, is a hot girl is around there I go, and lately if a hot guy is around sometimes I get a boner, I dont think I am gay but I do think I love the beutiful things in life. I get them all the time and several times a day, no way to correct that.

Don't let those other boys get you down dude - at puberty you haven't got much control over what your penis does. I suggest that if it happens again try to get your penis lay flat upwards and it won't be so visible. I'd seem a shame to give up a sport you really enjoy for the sake of a few immature kids.
I didn't have too much of a problem with boners at school. I started going through puberty around 13-14 years old and I remember between 14-16 I had one or two unwanted erections in school classes. I do remember when I was 15 and taking a naked shower after a P.E. squash lesson. I had a partial erection but just got on with showering and no-one commented or took any notice. I just tried to focus on something boring or mundane and it seemed to do the trick. David
