Worried - Infection? Help, Please
Posted: 10-25-07 14:08pm

I'm really worried right now. On the area beside your vaginal entrance (not the lips) btu like the area around that, is really red. It's been itching for a few days now too. I don't do any sexual stuff, don't have my period, and barely EVER maturbate (once or twice). Is it an infection, if so, is it normal? I don't want to have to go to a gynceologist because no one's ever seen that part except me..not even my mom..and I think it'll be really embarassing... so please help..

You might have a yeast infection. But, sweetie, you'd have to go to a doctor to find out.

Good luck!

You can get yeast infections or bacterial infections from everyday life.

Yeast infections can be really, really common. So can bacterial infections for some women. It all depends.

You should go see a doctor. Eventually all women have to go see a gynocologist anyway... it can be a little 'creepy' and you will never, ever 'enjoy' it - but it is best to be healthy.

Yeast infections suck but they aren't so bad. And the doctor will be really nice about it, I promise!

They are usually accompanied by thick/lumpy white or smelly discharge, pain/burning during sex or even peeing, redness and inflammation, and of course, itching. They can be treated by over the counter drugs, but the first few times you get them, you need to get them diagnosed by a doctor to make sure it's not bacterial or you'll just make it worse.

Thanks...Yeah, I'd rather go to a doctor than get some drugs that'll make it worse, I just hope it's a girl doctor =)

go to the web md page on yeast infections to see ways in which you can avoid getting another one. They're awful.

I used to get them when I was your age. Have you been taking any antibiotics? Antibiotics kill all the bacteria(good and bad) and this is when infections have a party down there. Going to the doc is the best option hun

Well tylenol wouldn't cause that, but good thing you're going to the doctor.
