Thanks Jana. I have gone for acupuncture for 8 months with little pain relief. I also have been a Reiki practitioner since 2001 with bi-weekly treatments. I'm now looking into scheduling an appointment with a Quantum touch practitioner. It's just very costly.I'm waiting to hear what my MRI showed. The last CT scan showed the bone growing in the mastoid, middle ear, temporal bone extending to the eyebrow area which is causing blurred vision. I was told there are so many nerves in the head where the bone is growing causing the nerves to be compressed which is also causing me pain. All of this is growing inside my head with little room for expansion. The bone itself also hurts. Please explain the pain your having. Have the doctors mentioned bone grafts? I can't have one because of the lack of room. But I have heard it sometimes stops the bone from growing. I just started on lyrica one month ago and still waiting for some relief. It sounds like your pregnant. Congratulations!!! How far along are you?
Take Care,
Sandy

I have FD of Right Temporal Bone
Hello, I was diagnosed when I was fifteen and am now thirty five. I had only suffered headaches before becoming pregnant with my third child at 30 years old. That's when I noticed conductive hearing loss. I had surgery 3 months after delivery. (A canalplasty at House Ear Clinic with Dr. Friedman). He is an excellent specialist, however, I've not found a doctor to focus on my FD alone -- I've been told that we can only correct problems after they've occured. Someone please tell me -- anyone with Temporal Bone FD-- have you suffered weird stints of memory loss? I am going to Cedar Sinai in Beverly Hills, CA next week to see about cranial reconstruction (second opinion) -- I'll try to keep everyone informed of what I learn.

You should join the fibrous dysplasia online support group that I belong to. The group members are great for support and knowledge of FD. Go to FDSOL.ORG
