it's too hard Sad I'm looking online now and i've manged to get Mika's stocking but hat's it. I was looking for a firemans constume for my nephew and all of them are ridiculasly expensive and i obviously have to spend the same amount on both my neice and nephew and what i'm getting her will be no where near the same amount. Also i'm tottlay stuck on what to get Mika, she'll be nearly 6 months which i a great age for new types of toys but if i'm still at home we have no where to put them and pretty much everything i've seen is big Sad Christmas is stressful, i now see why my mum got so stressed out

Great Website - Great Ideas
I have started my Christmas shopping about a month or two ago. First of all I'll tell you about this website that I came across. It's www.findgifts.com It's great because you can enter the sex, age, relation, and event that you're looking for. You don't necessarily have to buy off the site, but it'll give you some great ideas.

One great idea I'm making for my bf's mom is a quilt. Basically what I did was bought the quilted material from a fabric store that has pre-sewn squares on it (about 2" x 2") and printed off some family photos of her two boys throughout the years onto iron-on t-shirt paper (can pick up at any office supply store usually). Make the pictures about 4"x4" (and don't forget to reverse them on the computer). Then cut them out and spread them evenly on the quilt and iron them on (following the directions). Then just get some batting and some really nice soft material and sew it all together. It's beautiful, and simple and anyone would love it. It can range in price, just depending on what material you get.

Good luck and just think of how happy everyone will be at Christmas when they open the gifts.

I hate my sister for being so prepared. All she has left to do is wait for her father in law's present to arrive, wrap the presnts and write her cards. She got Mika's present in May beofre she wwas born! She's way to prepared for my liking lol

I have most of my shopping done. All of the kids in the family are bought for, I just have my kids to finish up. I'll be so glad to purchase that last gift...this time of the year is SOOOOO stressful.

we don't have any money for christmas this year. we do have all finn's stuff though, because to us christmas is about the kids.

any suggestions for cheap or homemade gifts for the family? i'm thinking of giving my parents and nick's parents framed pics of finn (maybe the 6 picture thing i was talking about in finn's fall pics thread).

danni, wait until after halloween for costume sales and i bet you'll be able to find a fireman costume cheap!

I agree with Christmas being all about kids.

I think the picture/frame idea is great! When I was a single mom, I always did the cookie thing. I still do... but then it was more in the line of gifting the cookies - I made everyone stockings and stuck the cookies inside them.

One year I crocheted everyone rugs. That was a huge project I wouldn't tackle again! Yikes!

Shane & I are starting to think about Christmas gifts now .. We're getting my little brothers a set of bunk beds because right now they're sleeping on 3 mattresses each just piled on the floor. My sister we're getting a giftcard to the mall. My mom & Shane's parents we really have no idea about though. I think mine & Shane's gifts to each other is going to be some new living room furniture! Right now all we have is one of those cheapo walmart futons & a 50 year old chair. I was looking around in Target today & there is SO much I want to get for Kaylee, I don't eve know where to start with her!!
