Hi i have suffered with anxiety on and off for the past 4 years. Just recently i had a big anxiety attack and i have been put on medication for a month! although i feel better, i still dont feel right. The thing that started the heightened anxiety was when i started with pain in my lower back a few weeks ago and straight away i blow it out of all proportions and start thinking up things that could be wrong with me. at the moment i dont have 'pain' as such, its just a feeling to the left of my stomach, to the bottom of my ribs. it feels like there is something there but there isnt as i have been to the doctor and she had a feel and found nothing at all. even though i have been told this i still think there is something terribly wrong with me but there obviously isnt as there would be so many other things wrong! i also get alot of twitching in the upper and lower abdomen! somebody please help and calm me down.

That sounds like a pretty good description of panic disorder. Have you been to a psychologist? Not only is it pretty easily treatable with medicine, but cbt (cognitive behavioral therapy) is really effective too.

Take some time to re-focus, breathe, and find yourself the help you need. Refer to the sticky on this forum "treatment for anxiety" if it helps.

Hi
Yes, Georgia59s tutorial on treatment is very good and very informative. I agree that you should make time and read it. I know there is something there that will hit home and maybe help you get through this.
I also agree to re-focus and try and relax. Do some meditation, it helps me though a lot of bad days. Georgia is also right that midication can treat this illness very well. It may come to that and if it does that is alright too.
