Anxiety Tense Neck And Vertigo Posted: 10-23-07 11:18am
in feburary i had vertigo out of nowhere
followed by a panic attack and it turned
out only to be a ear infection and its
gone away but ever since febuary ive had a
constantly tense neck anxiety and
vertigo....i want it to go away but its
not...when i dont have anxiety my vertigo
goes away but i have a tense neck still
and sometimes that makes me have anxiety
which makes my vertgio come back and
whenever i eat food that i need to chew
alot i get vertigo....so im really
frustrated is my anxiety cuasing my tense
neck thats cuasing my vertgio? or is it my
tense neck thats cuasing my anxiety and
vertigo....>_<

You need to ask a doctor that!!
It could be that you still have an inner
ear type issue or nervous issue that is
causing the vertigo. If so, you want to
get that treated asap. After that, start
thinking about the anxiety and tension if
it doesn't go away.

Like Georgia59 has said. Focus on the ears
first. You only have two. Might be fluid
behind the eardrum or was or anyting for
that matter that is casusing this.
Anxiety can cause tension in you muscles.
Especially you neck and jaw.

It is a feeling of dizziness. The cause
could be from many different things. But
usually the first thing they look at are
the ears. The inner ear is the leading
cause of vertigo. Sometimes low blood
pressure. Have it checked out though.
Also could be something with the persons
eyes. Like needing glasses or something.
Like I said, could be a number of things.

My boyfriend has vertigo and has been to
the ER, to Stanford, etc. He's had at
least 3 different diagnoses. He's been
told it was labyrinthitis (inflammation of
the ear canal), that he had a loose
"crystal" (not sure of the technical term)
and that it would never be permanently
cured (only temporarily by doing some
exercises), and that it had something to
do with the hairs in the ear canal being
out of place. Oh, and water inside the
ear canal from a past cold (which would be
the least likely reason now because it's
been about 4 months). So, pick one. LOL.
Vertigo is specifically a dizziness that
makes the room feel like it's spinning.
It's not light-headedness per se. It
would also make your eyes "spin" if the
doctor tilts you backwards in a certain
position.
Interestingly enough, he does have
anxiety, and I personally think this is
the root of his problem.
