What exactly is it about embryonic stem cell research that you are against?

What exactly is it about IVF that you are against?

Which is worse?

Abortion
Embryonic Stem Cell Research
IVF

Please put them in order worst being first.

Many thanks.

P.S. Be as explicit as possible.

Pro-life here and I see nothing wrong with stem research and IVF..the only bad one of the three is abortion.

Nobody, and that's why he's asking.

i have nothing against stem cell research or IVF.. i actually plan on IVF very soon.. i got my tubes tied too early.

as for SCR, i go either way. Ive heard things like, *scientists abort babies to get the stem cells* but i've also heard they can be retrieved out of cord blood after the baby is born.

SO im not tooooooo sure about that one.

MY GAWD! How can an intelligent person even believe some of this stuff???

*scientists abort babies to get the stem cells*

And cord blood does not have embryonic stem cells. just stem cells.

Just for the record, embryonic stem cells do not come from aborted fetuses. They come from embryos only a few days old.

So I am intrigued that IVF is ok with you.

Maybe I should have started off with a different question:

When does life begin, and what I mean by life is something that you are against being aborted.

A heck of a lot.

Are you aware that dozens of viable embryos are created via IVF? Multiples are implanted in the woman's uterus in an attempt to get her pregnant; most of these die.

After she finally gets pregnant, the rest are put in to cold storage for a while. Eventually, they are killed when they are no longer viable.

Used IVF embryos face an incredibly high natural abortion rate (aka miscarriage).

Unused IVF embryos face a slow abortion, dying incrementally over years instead of in moments.

You look at having sex and getting pregnant then aborting as 'killing a baby'. It is an embryo; a lab grown embryo is 'different' and acceptable to you for dying though? you do not place your value of 'human life' on the test tube embryo but you are all hot to force women who've had sex to gestate.
So what you are really saying is bad girls who have sex should be punished with pregnancy to learn to keep their legs closed right?
Nice how you once again leave out the male side of this..

Wow, I learn something new everyday. I didn't realize that they keep the embryos in cold storage...the ones that they don't use anyways. I thought they took what they could, fertilized them with the spermies and the ones that were viable, they injected.

Confused What does any of this have to do with her intelligence? You asked a question. She answered. Why do you feel the need to put her down? If you don't like her opinion, then don't effing ask for it. No need to question anyone's intelligence.

*sigh* Again, this has nothing to do with intelligence.
