Q: Constipation and Birth control?

My gf is taking birth control pills and ever since has had issues with constipation. Actually, she is not sure if it started a little bit before the pills or after the pills. Basically though, it has been here the whole time. Up until about 3 weeks ago, it was about every couple weeks, and she would get a little bleeding with it. Now, it has gotten more severe in the last few weeks. I hope to God this isn't one of those things where she would have to get part or all of her colon removed. Someone please answer this ASAP as we are very worried and she doesn't want her mom to go to the doctor with her. I want to start here first. Thanks in advance everyone.

You and her should go to the doctor...it could possibly be hemmoroids! Rectal bleeding like that and constipation is more common than you think, so make an appointment with a gastroenterologist! How old are you? Why dont you go to the doctor with her?! Good luck!

She can go without her mom. She can tell her mom what's going on (minus the pills if she wants) and that she needs to see the doctor. She can then tell her mom that she doesn't want her to come in with her because she's embarrassed or something, and tell the doctor the problem. The doctor will not tell her mom if she doesn't want her to.
