My girlfriend just started the nuva ring 6 days ago. She told me that her Dr said that she needs to wait 7 days before she is protected. All the reading that I have done says that you need to insert it during your period and then wait 7 days. To my knowledge she inserted it slightly past the middle of her cycle. Will it be ok after 7 days? Did her Dr give her wrong advice? Should we wait until after her upcoming period? We always use a condom while having sex and will continue to do so. The ring is just for an extra level of protection.
