Hi everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself - my name is Amanda and I have a two-year old daughter. BF and I aren't necessarily trying to get PG; however, something tells me we may have anyway. LOL! I was wondering if I could post my symptoms and see what you guys thought...I just need some opinions other than my own. Smile I'm only 6-7 DPO, so I have a little ways to go. Smile

3 or 4 DPO: cramping in afternoon (less severe than AF, dull); lower back pain; sore breasts; blue veins; woke up in the middle of the night to pee 3 times; woke up starving…second day in a row I’ve been dying to go to lunch; horrific, weird dream; fell asleep at 8:15 and woke up an hour later, sweating

4 or 5 DPO: slight cramping; slight backache; slight, fleeting nausea; small headache; increased jealousy of those who are/might be pregnant; more tired than usual; pretty hungry; heartburn ever so slightly…only ever had this when I was pg, so I’m not sure if it’s real or in my head

5 or 6 DPO: been gassy for a couple of days; sharp pain in hypogastric region (gas?); darker areolas, veins still prominent; random, very brief, waves of nausea (increased as it neared lunch time); headache started early…comes and goes; more frequent urination, but also drinking more; breasts are definitely more sore than usual, mostly on sides and underneath; dizzy in the car at lunch; weird shooting “pains” lower left side; obvious hot-flash late afternoon; back pain

6 or 7 DPO: woke up to pee last night; sweating during sleep; drooling in sleep (eww!); still gassy; tired…went to bed at 9:00; breast soreness is decreasing; more continued cramping in morning; last night, very brief stabbing twinge in the vaginal area; zits on nose – this has def. happened before, but 99% of the time, they’re on my chin; lots of snot in my nose today; some backache; areolas still dark; headache; breasts are still veiny

I appreciate any help/opinions anyone can give me!!!

It takes up to 6 days for a blastocyst (fertilized egg) to implant on your uterus. So you'd have absolutely no symptoms until that point.

Generally, a pregnancy test can pick up small amount of HCG 10 - 14 days past ovulation.

If you are having these kinds of symptoms and you relate them to pregnancy - then a pregnancy test would be positive at this point. What I am trying to say is:

If you have enough pregnancy hormones in your body to give you pregnancy symptoms, then there are enough hormones to trigger a pregnancy test.

It sounds like you are trying to me.

Bottom line, I think you need to wait until your period is late or due and take a pregnancy test.

Hello, Welcome to the forum. I agree that you should wait until your af is due or late and take a test. Or if you think you are (and just can't wait Wink ) then just go ahead and take a test just to see, but if it comes up neg. then wait and take another. Sometimes us ladies can read into things too much Confused So much that we think they are really happening. I know cause I did the same thing several times.

Good luck to you!

It humors me to read all of these posts and see what people write in there replys. You cant say that someone would not have absolutely no symptoms just because you didnt or people that you know didnt get early on symptoms , Doesnt mean that other people dont..I know PLENTY of people that starting getting sick just 3-7 days after conceiving then had a baby months down the road. Everyone differs. If you think your pregnant just go to the docter or wait it out :] Everytime i was pregnant i had really early symptoms . Good luck!

Actually, if you have ENOUGH hormones in your body to trigger PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS you would have ENOUGH hormones to make a POSITIVE pregnancy test.

Very early pregnancy symptoms are so similar to PMS and other symptoms. If you THINK hard enough about it, you can convince yourself they are pregnancy symptoms. When you aren't pregnant, you tend to say, "Oh well. I guess that was a fluke." And forget about it. But if you ARE pregnant, you say, "OMG! I totally KNEW I was pregnant because (list off symptoms here)."

When in reality, BASIC SCIENCE tells us that YOUR BODY WILL NOT produce enough hormones for a pregnancy test to be positive for a minimum of 10 days. And, sweetie, if you feel pregnancy symptoms on day 3 - you are fooling yourself. Because that blastocyst hasn't even implanted yet. How would your body even begin to know it was pregnant?

Oh, and your article:

"I have heard of women having symptoms as early as 3 days after conception."

Heard of. Their bodies were tricking them into thinking they were pregnant. Believe me. I had pregnancy symptoms and I wasn't even pregnant the month before we actually conceived. I just wanted to be pregnant so bad, my body was tricking me.

People post questions, and they are answered.

If they don't like what they see, they usually argue. That's why ehealth is so "terrible". If you don't like it, leave! Nobody is forcing anybody to post here.
