Confused About Conception Date... Posted: 10-18-07 16:14pm
Ok i had my last period on Feb 27th, i had
sex on the 17th of march,maybe 16th
too..but i also had sex before then
too.like maybe a week before. or a few or
more days before those dates.I took my
first pg test on March 26th and it came
out positive. I had my 1st ultrasound on
April 19th and they said that i was like 6
weeks 4 days and that my last period
wouldve been on like March 4th or
something,but i know thats wrong,i know i
had my last period on Feb 27th.Im Due
December 3rd and according to that due
date,i shouldve conceived on March 13th
maybe the 11th.....those are the dates
that im looking for...does that sound
right to anyone? and could that ultrasound
been wrong? and also..is it even possible
to get a positive pg test only 8 days
after sex? I need help..im so worried and
stressed about this!!!

An ultrasound done that early is accurate
+ or - 2 to 3 days you should have
conceived around march 12, if you have a
regular cycle i would say you conceived
around the 12, a pregnancy test can come
out positive 10 days after conception. I
hope that helps, also do you know what was
the heart rate on the ultrasound???

So if i had sex on like the 16th or 17th
of march,then the 26th of march would be
about 9 -10 days afterwards...the person
doing the ultrasound said that i might
have conceived on march 18th but that
would only have been 8 days from that date
till the 26th when i took my preg test and
that would have been too soon right? and
im not sure what the heartbeat was,but i
think it was in the 130s or so.Does that
make any difference??

yes it could come positive on the 26th,
there is this formula that my Doctor gave
me to determine gestational age by the
heart rate he said it was accurate whitin
2 to 4 days -+ , Heart rate X .3 +6 =
Gestational age son in your case it would
be
130 x .3 + 6= 45 days that is 6 weeks and
4 days( this formula is only good if used
before the 9th week) so the ultrasound
would have been right but then your due
date would be Dec 10th because on Dec 3
you would be 39 weeks pregnant so if they
gave you a due date of Dec 3 you would
have conceived on or around March 12. If
they are telling you that your conception
day was around the 18th your due date
should be the 10th of December that would
be 40 week full term, i hope I am not
confusing you.

Well the ultrasound must have been wrong
by a few days or something,because i swear
up and down that i had my last period on
Feb 27th,which would give me a conception
date of around march 11th -13th. And yes
my due date is Dec 3rd. When i had my
ultrasound done to determine the sex,i was
about 20 weeks or so and the due date
didnt change,my doc said i was right on
time.I am 35 weeks right now. So that
ultrasound i got done when i was
supposedly 6 weeks 4 days couldve been off
by a few days..am i right?

I think you'll still need a DNA test to
determine paternity - because the dates
are so very close together. Sperm can live
for about 5 days.

Well if you have a regular period and you
are sure that it was on Feb 27th then it
makes perfect sense that your due date is
on Dec 3rd and your conception day around
March 12th, I think that should give a lot
of mind peace, enjoy your pregnancy ; )
