what is Finns daily diet?? I mean, how much and what do u feed him? Any 3rd stage babyfood?

I'm just having a hard time thinking up foods to buy Caitlyn.. her breakfast bottle has baby food in it..(thats the only only only way she will eat when she gets up..) then we give her usually the same stuff as Jacob throughout the day. But shes only gained a pound and a half since her 9 month check-up.. she was 21 pounds exactly, now shes 22 and a half. So im a little worried shes not eating enough.

a pound and a half doesn't sound like a bad gain. i think now that they're walking it's supposed to slow down. finn hasn't been to the doctor since the end of august and he weighed just under 23 pounds. he goes for his 1 year checkup on nov 6 and i'm not expecting a big gain. now that he can walk all he does all day long is walk around the house, he seriously never stops.

anyway, he hasn't had baby food since about 7.5 months, he's completely on table foods.

up until yesterday he would get-

breakfast: 6oz formula

lunch: cut up mixed veggies w/ pasta, hot dog with peas or carrots, mac and cheese w/ broc, toast and fruit, etc.

4pm:6oz formula

dinner: whatever we have- chicken, vegetables, rice, pasta, hamburger, ravioli, beans, etc. if it wasn't baby friendly he would have a jam and cream cheese sandwich or something easy.

7pm: 6oz formula

NOW (as in, starting today) he gets-

breakfast: today it was half an apple cut up and peeled wih dry kix and 6oz milk in a cup. i'll switch it up, he loves fruit, toast, waffles, pancakes. the only thing he doesn't like is scrambled eggs.

snack: dry cheerios with the rest of his milk from breakfast. he also loves graham crackers, animal crackers, goldfish.

lunch: same as usual with 6oz milk.

he'll get an afternoon snack if he wants with the rest of his lunch milk.

dinner he'll have the usual with water.

6oz milk before bed.

he really will eat anything and i think he eats a lot for his age. yesterday i took him to lunch at wendy's (ok, i took myself to lunch at wendy's and he just happened to be with me) and he ate an entire hamburger and an entire side of mandarin oranges. the boy can eat!

oh man lol. Caty eats like a pig when she finds something she likes. She loves pizza and pizza crust.. and chicken nuggets.

Thats basically how she eats.. only difference is she has a sippy all day long readily available with juice or koolaid or water. A friend of mine only gives her 9 month old something to drink when he eats, and i think thats mean.. kids get thirsty just like we do.

last night for dinner she had mashed potatoes, cream corn, and applesauce. She wouldnt eat the chicken we made, but she guzzled down the taters.

thats kinda good thing u posted bridget, im in the process of trying to get jordynne to switch to table foods, and i always just have a blank mind thinking of food to make for her. she has her 4 top teeth that are almost all the way in and the 2 down the bottom. She ate some hot dog cut up and mixed veggies today, dunno how much she ate of it though all the kids were makin amess with it. Sometimes she eats spaghetti if she can make a mess with it, she hates hates hates to be spoon fed she always pushes it away shes like little miss independent and has to feed herself, so i try and like give her food thats not as messy. i forget abotu goldfish crackers and i actually did buy some haha now that i realize it. She just now is starting to actually drink outa sippy cups.

finn hates being spoon fed too so he doesn't get stuff like yogurt and applesauce.

keep in mind they don't really need teeth to eat. they mash with their back gums, not chew with their front teeth.

just keep her away from the no-no foods, like peanut butter and nuts, shellfish (i think? we don't give finn any seafood), and honey.

Caitlyn has had peanutbutter.. she loves the stuff. The onlt time ur supposed to keep it away from them is if there is a history of peanut allergies in the family.

Caty loves being spoon fed.. Shes learned to eat with a fork really well.. a spoon shes getting decent at but tends to turn it upside down before it hits her mouth lol.

Today she refused her bottle.. so she got a sippy with soy milk, some kix, and some grapes. she loved it.

Lunch she got mashed taters with gravy from KFC, some green beans, and gatorade to drink.

Right now shes suckin down a sippy of soy milk and munching on cinnamon graham crackers.

peanut butter is the one food i won't mess with. that would be such an awful allergy to have live with, i'm just not willing to chance it.

i'm waiting until at least 2 for peanuts and shellfish. i think it's a year for egg whites, though they can have the yolk anytime. i "cheated" and gave finn scrambled eggs last week (3 weeks from his birthday), but he hated them. i wish he'd liked them! that would have been a quick healthy breakfast for him.

i'm pretty sure it's 2 for honey also, but that's due to botulism, not allergies.

This is just random (and since finn doesn't like eggs it doesn't really apply)but... don't give them too much egg yolk because its got way to much cholesterol!!

ha, can you tell I'm a nutrition major? Guess what I learned about this week..EGGS!

no nut allergies run in my family.. and she took to it quite well.

B, try when you cook the egg, to put shredded cheddar on top of after its done.. thats the only way my kids will eat it.

william loves his peanut butter aswell. i see no reason to give it to him as there is no history of nut allergies in our family
