Should I Be Worried About a Possible Misscarriage???
Posted: 10-18-07 02:34am

I am currently on birth control and about 2 weeks ago i was on meds for an infection. It never crossed my mind to use a backup method while I was on another med. Needless to say a week before my period I got extremely light pink occasional spotting for a couple days. When my period started it was extremely light barely there then extremely heavy different then normal blood and bad cramps then light again. So i am wondering if i have to worry about being pregnant or miscarriage or am i am being parinoid?

I believe that birth control has been made so that it completely prevents pregnancy, but if it happens, it is completely harmless. So no, birth control will not cause a miscarriage.

A heavy period means you are not pregnant. Even if you did have a miscarriage, it's nothing too serious as it would have been very early on. Many women miscarry at this stage and never realise it.

You could've gotten pregnant during that time, but given the fact that you have your period now, it's not really a concern.

Since the antibiotics change the way your body absorbs the hormones, (as I understand) the strange period could just be due to that. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
