Your birth control does not affect a pregnancy test's results. If it says negative and you're not testing too early, then you're most likely NOT pregnant.

It can take a while to get pregnant even when a woman has not been on birth control, so be patient!

I'm going through a similar situation right now. My boyfriend and I had sex the day I took the ring out & the day after, then I started my period. That was the beginning of June. My July period was 7 days late, then I spotted for 2 days and put a new ring in. I have taken 3 pregnancy tests, 1 at home and 2 with my doctor. All say I'm not pregnant. I have most of the top 10 symptoms of pregnancy, but my tests are still producing a negative reading. I'm starting to wonder if these medical professionals really know what they're talking about. Also, if I'm not pregnant, what IS wrong with me? Could it be related to the Nuvaring? Was there a bad batch?

Yes, it just came back today with negative results. I'm not sure where to go from here. What else could cause the same symptoms as pregnancy?
