There are a number of acupressure points to use if you want to stop smoking.

1. In front of the thyroid gland
2. At the solar plexus
3. Near the joints of the wrist, knees and ankles

I suggest that you see an acupressure specialist who can first teach you these points, and then you can practice the technique and self-administer acupressure at home. So how does it work?

Basically, you either reinforce a pressure point to bring energy to it, or you reduce a pressure point to remove energy blocks. You can do both ... they don't cancel each other out.

To reduce, continually press and move a finger on the point in a counterclockwise circles. To reinforce a pressure point, apply firm pressure using your fingers, palms, or knuckles to a pressure point for one to several minutes. Or, you can rub the pressure point vigorously to increase circulation to the area. You can also tap a pressure point with your fingertips or fist to stimulate the muscles. To get a full effect, apply pressure for at least 30 seconds; preferably 1-2 minutes is best.
