Last week I had tested positive for a UTI. I was given 5 days worth of Macrobid. After 3 days I started to feel better and kept taking the Macrobid till it was finished. Around 2 days after I had finished the Macrobid, I started to get the symptoms again. I went back to the clinic and my urine tested negative for UTI. He used the "dip-stick test" and had told me that sometimes it is not accurate, so he send my urine off to the lab for analysis. He also gave me a two week prescription for Macrobid again.
I was also diagnosed in 1998 with Interstitial Cystitis. After a year I went into remission.
My question is, has anyone else had problems simmilar to mine? With a UTI that takes so much antibiotics to get rid of?
I am really hoping that this isn't IC flairing up again.
