Q: Blood Discharge

Recently my boyfriend had knee surgery and was administered a block during the procedure. I believe it may have been administered in his groin area. We are not sure if a catheter was used during surgery. We have had intercourse a couple of times since with no problems. This last time, we experimented with a warming gel. After a normal bout of intercourse, he said he experienced a warm fluid flowing through his penis and we noticed a bloody discharge. Since, he has found it more difficult to achieve an erection - previously it was instantaneous. When he does achieve an erection, he believes it is not as hard and does not last without constant manipulation. He also states that it feels dead. He used a Reagent Strip and found there was a trace of blood in his urine. He believes something ruptured but there is no bruising visible. Is that possible?

If there is blood in his urine, regardless of everything else, he needs to see a urologist. They can check on everything else while he's there.
