Hello I am 27 years old. I went to the doctor with hip pain several months ago. He told me it was arthritis. Later I went back to see him with fatigue. He tested me and my ANA screen came back positive(which was High) and my pattern was speckled. He suspected RA or Lupus. So I started to research both. My symptoms matched Lupus. Muscle and joint pain. I lose my hair as well. Along with the fatigue. I have a family history of RA and MS. Well the rheumatoid doctor doesn't think I have RA. Which I agree with. I was pretty much thought it was the lupus. He thinks it is not Lupus because I have no noted inflammation in my blood test. Was I possibly misdiagnosed. Should seek another opinion. Please someone help me Sad

It sounds like you could have RA or Lupus. There are many forms of lupus.
SLE (systemic) has a butterfly rash on your face that is a dead give away. (i had this on my face)

The first rhematologist (sp?) told me he didnt believe that i had lupus.
He said the ANA's could be high because of my family history of both RA and lupus.
I would get a second opinion... my second Arthritis doctor was alot better at handling me.. and really checked me out thoroughly.

Good luck!!!!
