Well I really dislike having a foreskin and am wanting to get it removed. My mom said she's cool with it and everything but I am wondering is it safe? Because I heard it could be dangerous or soemthing like that.

Like would I still enjoy sex and stuff with it off?

I'm just a little concerned, not really abotu the pain just about the whole aftermath.

Also, how long would I need to keep it bandaged or whatever before I can start masturbating?

It's actually much safer and less deforming to get it done at your age than as a baby.

I've heard anywhere from 2-5 weeks of recovery time, and you *cannot* get a hard on during this time, or you risk pulling out the stitches.

As for sex... You will be loosing a LOT of sensitivity. You will not get as pleasurable or intense stimulation as you will be missing a lot of nerve endings. The foreskin acts to cushion your penis and the woman's vagina.

Are you having problems with your foreskins or is this more a "looks" thing for you? At 15 you may not realize what you are giving up and find yourself regretting the decision later on when you recall the different feeling you had while intact. Why don't you give yourself a few more years before deciding on this. If most your buddies are cut and you are feeling odd man out or something - cheer up - there are millions of guys like me who never got the chance to choose.

Why do you want to get cut? Just curious.

Yes it's because I do feel weird knowing that everyone is cut. That's why I never wanted to do anything sexually that invovles my penis because I'm scared what the girls will think. And if somehow they don't like it, I don't want to be known as that guy with the foreskin.

Also, when you say that I will not get as pleasurable will I feel the same as other men circumsized or will it be diffrent because I got it cut later on.

it is very safe, as a matter of fact in the first year of life, urinary tract infections (UTIs) happen less often in circumcised boys than in boys who are not circumcised, some studies have shown that circumcised males are a little less likely than males who have not been circumcised to get a sexually transmitted disease (STD), including HIV (http://children.webmd.com/tc/circumcision -why-it-is-done). with regards to it being pleasurable, sure it is! you still have your penis.

Er yeah...aesthetics alone probably aren't a very good reason to go through that, but you won't necessarily lose "a LOT" of sensitivity. That's simply propaganda; some men that have it done late in life claim an improvement, never mind parity. This is because the idea that less skin = less nerves = less pleasure is a gross oversimplification of a very complex thing.

Not everyone is cut!! Circumcision rates are dropping dramatically. I think it's about 50/50 now.

Wait a few years until you're more experienced.

Don't assume that because you have a foreskin, the girl isn't going to like it. Many women love it, actually, as long as you keep clean.

Many men wish they still had theirs so they could have made the decision to get rid of it (or keep it) themselves.

Catcher, I can't ultimately tell you what you should do, but don't be ashamed of your forskin! Circumcision is falling in populariy and it's an entirely arbitrary social standard. Doesn't something seem a little wrong when some people consider it abnormal to not surgically alter your genitals? Join the movement to abolish non-sensicle social standards, be proud of looking the way nature intended! I know I am.

I'm 21 and was cercumcised 6 weeks ago.

The penis will be bruised and swolen for a good week in which you will prob have to keep changing the bandage in that time. You won't need to but if you don't want blood on your clothes it would be best to bandage up. The stitches took a good 3 week to desolve or was safe to pull out. The penis head was extremely sensitive on boxershorts for a good 3 weeks also. When I went out I bandaged it up so it wouldn't rub on my clothing. 6 weeks on I don't feel my penis rubbin on my clothing anymore which is great. I could masterbate 3 weeks after the op.

You would need a good 2 week or work or school. Also preventing erections would be impossible and when you get one within the first week the PAIN is crazy so be carefull in the mornings and not to rush out of best with a erection on because you will tear the skin as I did but its healed up ok.

6 weeks on and I am due to go back to the urologist for a check up. Every thing is ok I guess. Underneath the penis head were the banjo string was its still a bit swolen.

Its a small operation and you will be home the same day as the operation unless you have any issues. I had to say in over night because when I went to leave to go home I started to bleed heavily from the penis and had to go back in the theater room for them to zap some blood vessals and add more stitches. I was home the next day.

Good luck.
