I have been jogging (or walking at a very fast pace) 4 miles per day for the past 10 years. I am 5'11" and i used to weigh 136 which was too skinny so I put on 15 lbs. Now I want to get down to 145 and I started restricting my calories (1200 per day). I have always been a vegan and eat low fat & healthy, and to diet I just needed to cut my calories since I am already eating healthy. My pulse used to be around 55-60, but since I started dieting it is around 47-48. I know that exercise decreased RHR due to the heart being able to pump blood more effecienclty, but does dieting also make it lower?
I am very educated in the health, fitness, & nutrition field but I just need to know if there is a link between dieting & heart rate??!!
