Q: Back Pain From Siatic Nerve And Piriformus Muscle

My body is twisted and I have severe pain from my siatic nerve down my right leg. It has gotten better and then will get worse again. I have tried some exercises and they seem to help somewhat. How long can it take to get over this condition? How long will it take for my body to straighten out? I have one hip higher than the other. The side with the pain is higher than the other.

Hi you seem to be describing ail the symptoms of mild scoliosis with pelvic obliquity or acquired leg length difference most doctors would probably say this is not much of a problem, chiropractors and osteopaths deal with this kind of problem but take your time and ask around to find a good one. I seem to suffering from the same kind of condition i think i know what you mean by "my body is twisted" when i say this to a doctor i get a disapproving look.

If there is nothing else wrong with you and you are in good shape with the right care you should notice some improvement fairly quickly.

Good luck.

Go to a manipulative treatment specialist like rollar64 there succested. Get your twisted pelvis corrected there.

But unfortunately it is hard to find a good one...

Pain Down the Leg
Hello 1002,

What you are describing - about the pain going down your right leg is exactly the "problem" I had. In addition I started to have a tingling sensation in my lower right leg. After an MRI it was determined that I had a pinched nerve at L4/L5 caused by a bulging disc that inflammed the nerve.

I had an epidural injection given by a skilled PM doctor the end of April and it did eliminate the inflammation to the point that aI no longer have pain in my right leg and the "tingling" sensation disappeared.

PLEASE, don't let you leg pain continue without seeking the needed help and treatament from a skilled and highly respected doctor.

The treatment recommended by Expatient will not reduce the inflammatioon that you most likely have. I say this with due respect to Expatient. I do agree with Expatient that finding GOOD doctors/people to treat you is difficult.

Oh yes, before the epidural injection I also had PT which helped to a very limited degree. AFTER the epidural injection my doctor recommended that I continue with the PT treatment. He said that the injection WITH the PT was the best way to go.

Hope this helps.
