Q: Can Becoming Too Warm Effect Sexual Desire/performance?

I am 29 years old; my husband is 32 years old.

During an infertility work up, it was discovered that my husband has extremely low sperm morphology counts. We then visited a urologist, who determined that my husband has bilateral varicoceles. We were counseled that surgical correction for morphology alone isn't usually successful, so we decided not to pursue any surgical treatment.

All of his hormone levels were within normal limits, however, the urologist had him take Arimidex for awhile to try to improve morphology.

We've now decided to simply do in vitro fertilization to eliminate the male factor of our fertility problem.

Our current problem is now of a sexual nature. My husband has a hard time staying erect during intercourse. We'll start off fine, but after a few minutes, he goes totally limp. He complains that he get so hot during sex that he can't concentrate or finish.

He does become extraordinarily hot; his skin becomes very warm to the touch and he starts pouring sweat. He is, in general, a very hot natured person, but I've never heard or seen anything like this before.

I'm wondering what's going on. Could the fact that he gets so hot really be the reason he has trouble maintaining an erection? And what could cause him to get that warm? Surely it's not the physical exertion (since it happens after only a few minutes). It seems almost like a thyroid storm or something ... or could it be blood pressure related?

We're trying to get in to see another urologist, but the next appointment is so far out, and in the mean time, I'm suffering from his inability to really have intercourse.

I'd appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks.

I don't really know, but here is my intuition...

If he is getting really warm maybe there's something up with his blood pressure- more blood is going to the surface of his skin? If there's something weird with his bloodflow, that would most definitely effect his erections.

But you should definitely bring it up to the doc Smile
