I have a 21 year old son attending college out of state. He was wrestling with a friend and did something to his shoulder. He said he has never experienced such pain and there is a popping feeling where the clavicle bone meets the sternum. He went to a doctor but he did not take xrays or put his arm in a sling. He gave my son something for the pain and told him to come back in two weeks. In the mean time my son is driven to his knees when he sneezes or coughs. I am very worried and want my son to go to an emergency room. Am I over reacting? Is this something that can heal on it's own or does he need surgery. He says the bone popping is driving him nuts.
