Q: 21 Years Old, No Growth of Pubic Hair

Hi,

I have an unusual problem. I am 21 years old, and I have no hair in my armpits (none, what-so-ever), none on my body above the belly button, and scarce facial hair (looks like a 12 year old facial hair). More or less, the condition is limited to my upper body (above belly button), my lower body has tons of hair.

I am the shortest in the family (165cm), both my brother and my sister are taller than me. My dad is 173cm and my mom is 167cm. I also have a grade 4 varicocelle, and have been diagnosed with a minor tourettes syndrome, but I do not take any medications.

I have taken almost every possible test my Endocrinologist could think of. FSH, LH, Testosterone, Testosterone counts, MRI, and more (he had sent me to so many tests, I forgot). Every thing came out perfect. The only thing he found wrong was an extremely minor problem with the FSH, but he dismissed it for some reason and said that it could not be the reason.
In the beginning he thought it might be hypogonadism, but then dismissed it due to normal penis size and lack of ED (if I am not mistaken).

In the end, he offered me no real diagnostic. He tried giving me testosterone shots (even though I had normal testosterone amounts), but no luck there.

Please help.. I am frustrated. No one could offer any explanations to this condition, and I have never heard of anyone else with this kind of condition. I realize it sounds funny that I complain about hair in places most people want to remove, but I feel ridiculous, especially when I go to the beach with my friends and such and in any situation where I need to take my shirt off.

If anyone could shed some light on my problem, I'd appreciate it so much!

Thanks,
Michael.

Some guys just don't have a lot of upper body hair... If your penis works and you aren't growing boobs I don't see what the problem is. I prefer hairless guys!

Less shaving. Eiri's right, you should be grateful. Some women don't like hair.
You probably don't get smelly either which is awesome.
And when you're 40 you'll still look like you're 25.

Are your sexual organs developed and of normal size?

Do you lack masculine muscle?

I think if you should meet a top specialized endocrinologist. You need to learn that most general endocrinologists are stupid.

I saw one in London (a general one) I told him I have never had an erection and my body is off ratio. He disagreed on my body part stupidly, and then I gave him the measurements etc. He was sitting their like a dumb goose. I then gave him a scientific response, "Morning erections are the 1st indicators that the hormone balance is correct." As he said my hormones are fine. But I have been getting help from an American friend, who is specialized in the case and a patient at the same time. He knows a lot, and I have a caring GP. Both are rare to find.

Go on www.drfoster.co.uk and search for a Paediatric Endocrinologists with pubertal & growth disorders, and peadiatric endocrinology. Have you properly checked your pituitary gland too?

Search on this site, and also make sure, you book a private appointment asap. You will be able to see the right doctor you need within a week, and then if he/she is good will know you need care. Then ask them to transfer you on the NHS as you cannot afford it. Then you can see him/her for free and a caring doctor will treat you faster if your case is severe.
