I've had molluscum for about 3 months now. I've tried liquid nitro and Aldara with no luck. Can anyone suggest alternative/natural methods of treatment?

some advice
I feel like it didn't really wok for me, but it might be worth a shot because I'm not sure that I followed the instructions perfectly AND I was constantly itching at the bumps, day after day, and scraping off the medication - that's probably why it didn't work very well. I think all the scratching actually spread the bumps to nearby areas, so definitely don't scratch them. Leave this stuff on and might just work!

also, there's another posting where a lady said that 1% clotrimazole cream worked to clear up her kid's molluscum after the kid had it for months and months; this cream is usually used to treat ringworm and fungal infections; it contains an antibiotic; I think it is only available by prescription, so maybe ask your doctor or any dermatologist for a prescription; I'm not sure if there are any side effects to watch out for; here's the original posting (it's from a few years ago, so I'm not sure if you can still contact the person who posted it): http://pregnancy.ehealthforum.com/health/t opic10384.html

most importantly, I think that getting plenty of rest, eating very healthy, getting some moderate exercise a few times a week and (related to that) keeping yourself from getting stressed out will help your immune system fight off the molluscum infection.

mine is pretty much 100% cleared up after about 15 months; I felt pretty tired all the time for most of those 15 months and I now feel like I'm starting to have my old energy back; I have been eating very healthy, exercising, and sleeping (ALOT), but it has been hard for me to avoid stress. If I weren't so stressed all the time, I feel like this infection might have cleared up faster.

Best of luck. Questions?

the above posting...
...was edited by the ehealth staff because I posted an external website. If you want to know the product that I tried for my molluscum, message me directly I suppose.

My body actually began to fight it off on it's own in mid November. It all disappeared by the end of the month and soon reappeared on my stomach, where it still comes and goes. The side effects from using Aldara lasted up until about 2 weeks ago and they included severely dry skin to the point of splitting my skin. I'm fairly confident that my body will take care of it soon by keeping healthy. thanks so much for the info!

Easy Cure
My child had molluscum, and we tried several of the creams the doctor gave us (retin-A, etc.) But one doctor told us that he could scrape them off. My child did NOT want him to do that, but each night I would "pop" one of them out. Sounds gross - I know, but it worked!
