I wouldn't worry at all about oral herpes. You've heard of cold sores, right? Fever blisters....
Those are forms of oral herpes and if anything, it's just annoying. It can be contagious, just don't kiss or let anyone drink after you when you have a sore. That's all. It's really no biggy at all.
My husband has oral herpes and I've never even seen a sore. Ever.

No oral herpes isnt that bad. Most people and even children have herpes viris 1. Cold sores, fever blisters and canker sores are all realted. it will not harm your baby. Genital herpes can only harm your baby if you have an outbreak and the baby has to pass the birth canal. So unless you kiss yourself down there your baby will be fine. If you do have a sore on your mouth try not to touch it and then change the babys daiper or kiss the baby on the mouth. Its passed on by skin to skin contact so unless you touch your sore(If you have any) and then touch the babys mouth or private parts your baby will be fine.

Also just out of caution. Do not give oral sex if you have a sore inside or on your mouth. You can give your partner GENITAL herpes this way.

But please dont freak out. Your baby will be fine and healthy.

95% of the North American popuation has been exposed to the HSV-1, ie cold sores. In most people the virus never becomes active. Your baby may become exposed sometime in his/her lifetime but like you will never have and outbreak.
