Hey there, i had just got an operation to put a stent into my ureter, the tube connecting my kidney to my bladder. I had had some pains in my side, when i went to he hospital and they said they needed to insert a stent. Now, i do smoke, and yes, i was told alll weekend by nurses doctors urologists of the sort that i need to quit. But if i were to smoke a couple days after my operation, would it effect me in a negative way at all? (other than the regular negative effects of smoking)

Hi Gregory! Welcome to the forum!

I think I would call my doc and ask directly if smoking would have an adverse effect given your condition. Ask your doc what you just wrote here. They don't expect you to quit smoking the instant they warn you about it, doctors understand that quitting is a difficult process that takes time and sometimes multiple attempts.

Good luck!
